KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – Opposition UML leader Ram Kumari Jhakri stated that they will give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. “We supported Hon’ble Member of the Federal Parliament, Hon’ble Sher Bahadur Deuba, for the post of Prime Minister of 76 (5),” Jhakri wrote on Facebook. Despite the support of 149 people, 146 members have knocked on the door of the Supreme Court after the President did not appoint them. It is our duty to give a vote of confidence to the government and the Prime Minister formed after the court issued the order. Let’s make an institutional decision and let the UML sit on the floor and vote for the vote of confidence. ‘

Prime Minister Deuba is taking a vote of confidence from the House today. However, opposition UML leader Bhim Acharya has accused the party of trying to get a vote of confidence today as a conspiracy to divide the party. Leader Acharya said, “Trying to get a vote of confidence today is nothing but a nefarious intention to divide the UML.”

Meanwhile, the pro-establishment UML has also decided not to cast a vote of confidence. The decision was taken at a meeting of the UML Standing Committee held at the Tulsilal Memorial Foundation. Announcing the decision, spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said, “Those who give a vote of confidence to Deuba will not stay in UML.”
