Maoist decision to give Deuba a vote of confidence
KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – The CPN-Maoist has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. A meeting held at the hall of the Maoist parliamentary party in Singha Durbar on Sunday (today) decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Deuba.
Deuba, who became the prime minister after the Supreme Court’s decision on July 12, is taking a vote of confidence today. Deuba needs the support of 136 lawmakers to retain the PM’s job. At first glance, there are 153 MPs with Deuba. However, tensions within the opposition UML have begun to grow. Therefore, all the MPs of the opposition UML may not give a vote of confidence. UML secretary Bhim Acharya said, “The UML is trying to get a vote of confidence today with a conspiracy to divide it.”
