Deuba will get a vote of confidence
KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is set to receive a vote of confidence. UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal will give a vote of confidence and Prime Minister Deuba will get a vote of confidence. At present, the meeting of the Nepali side is being held in Koteshwor. Khatiwada, an MP from the meeting place, told Makalukhbar, “We have already decided to give a vote of confidence.” The Supreme Court has also said that there will be no whip. Top leaders of the Nepali side Bhim Rawal, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Surendra Pandey, Bhim Acharya, Gokarna Bista and others have discussed whether to give a vote of confidence or not. During the meeting, there was a discussion on whether to vote for Deuba or not. One of the leaders in the discussion said, “We are not asked to give it to everyone.” Not even forced. But, the vote is given. ‘
Leader Raghuji Panta, on the other hand, said that he had proposed not to vote for Deuba. However, he said that homework was being done on language adjustment as most of the leaders were of the view that they should vote.
Earlier, President Bidyadevi Bhandari had handed over the signatures of 26 Nepali lawmakers to make Deuba the Prime Minister. However, only 23 Nepali lawmakers signed the petition, which was later moved to the Supreme Court seeking the restoration of the House of Representatives and the appointment of Deuba as prime minister.
Deuba, who was appointed as the Prime Minister on July 5 following the order of the Supreme Court, is taking a vote of confidence through the House of Representatives this afternoon. As per the decision of last July 12, the party whip will not be used this time, so the MPs of any party will be able to give a vote of confidence.
According to the latest equation, 61 MPs from the Nepali Congress, 49 from the CPN-Maoist Center, one from the Rastriya Janamorcha and 17 from the Upendra Yadav faction of the People’s Socialist Party are in favor of Deuba.
