Separate meeting of the top three parties today
KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – The top three parties Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, and UML are holding separate meetings today. A meeting of the ruling Congress and UCPN (M) parliamentary parties is being held while a meeting of the UML Standing Committee is scheduled to be held.
Congress party meeting will be held at 2 pm at the Federal Parliament Building, Baneshwor-based Lhotse Hall, said Congress Parliamentary Party Whip Pushpa Bhusal. According to her, a meeting of the party has been convened to discuss how to present in the session of the parliament. The reconstituted House of Representatives meeting is being held in New Baneshwor on Sunday at 4 pm.
Similarly, a meeting of the UCPN (M) was convened at 11 a.m. at Singha Durbar. UCPN (M) Chief Whip Dev Prasad Gurung informed that a meeting has been convened to discuss how to present in the parliament session. The Maoists have issued a whip to all members to attend the meeting.
UML Standing Committee
UML standing committee meeting is being held at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation in Lalitpur at 11 am. The meeting was organized to set the agenda of the central committee meeting and prepare for the assembly session, said party central office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang.
According to him, the leaders of the Nepali side have also been called for the meeting on Sunday. UML has decided to hold the assembly session from August 9 to 11.
