KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – The Corona vaccine, which is provided by Johnson & Johnson by the US under the Covax program, is administered Monday in Kathmandu. From Friday to Wednesday, individuals of certain age groups and school groups will be immunized.

In order to make the COVID-19 vaccination program more effective, Kali Prasad Paradjul, head of district Kathmandu chief, decided to vaccinate Johnson from 44 vaccination centers in Kathmandu between 19 and 21 July, a Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting had been established to coordinate the project. On Monday there came to Nepal from the USA a total of 15 lakh 34 thousand 850 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

This vaccine, which is given in a single dose, will be given to the age group of 50 to 54 years. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, citizens with complete and severe disabilities (Class A and B), refugees living in Nepal, and health workers, and sanitation workers working in health institutions who have missed out on vaccination will also be vaccinated.

Request to be vaccinated with confidence

Some of the Americans who have been vaccinated against Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine have been diagnosed with neurological problems.

But Sameer Kumar Adhikari, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, urged that the Johnson vaccine, which is only one dose, be vaccinated in 55 countries, as the World Health Organization has allowed emergency use.

As rumored outside, there is no big risk in getting this vaccine. The official explains. “Some of the risks of all vaccines are public, but the benefits outweigh the risks.

The Ministry of Health has clarified this further

The vaccine is safe. The US Drug Enforcement Administration (FDA) has said the Johnson & Johnson vaccine could increase the risk of neurological disorders such as Guillain Barre syndrome. But so far there is no direct link between the vaccine and the risk of Guillain Barre syndrome.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration says the disease is rare and that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks. The Ministry of Health and Population is also aware of this and will step up monitoring in the coming days. The benefits of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine outweigh the potential risks against COVID-19. So without being affected by such rumors, let’s go to the appointed date and place and get vaccinated according to our turn.
