Meeting of the reconstituted House of Representatives today, such is the agenda
KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – The meeting of the House of Representatives reconstituted by the order of the Supreme Court is being held today. On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called a meeting of the House of Representatives for 4 pm.
President Bhandari had dissolved the House of Representatives on May 22 on the recommendation of the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli-led government. The meeting is being held for the first time today after the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court restored the House of Representatives on July 12. The CPN-UML, which has been in power for nearly three and a half years, will be seen as the main opposition this time.
At the beginning of the meeting, Speaker Agni Sapkota is scheduled to read out a letter from the President’s Office regarding the convening of the House of Representatives and the cabinet meeting. After that, the meeting will be adjourned after passing the condolence motion of the member presiding over the meeting and the deceased former parliamentarian and member of the Constituent Assembly, according to a statement issued by General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Bharatraj Gautam.
