ISLAMABAD: JULY 16 – National positivity rate of COVID-19 in Pakistan has risen to over six percent in Pakistan, raising a serious concern of a fourth wave in the country, according to the data released by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Friday.
On Thursday, a total of 2,327 people tested positive for the disease, bringing the total number of infections to 983,719, according to the NCOC, the country’s nerve center once more. With 352,472 cases, the southern Sindh province has been the hardest hit, followed by the east Punjab province, where the disease has been detected in 349,475 people.
According to the NCOC, a total of 22,720 people died from the disease, including 31 patients who died within the last 24 hours, and a critical 2,388 patients are currently being treated in 639 hospitals across the country.
According to the statement, a total of 917,329 people have recovered from the disease in the country.
The country’s vaccination drive has also accelerated, with 583,655 doses administered to the public on Thursday, according to the NCOC.
According to the most recent official data, 17,336,845 people in the country have been partially vaccinated against COVID-19, while 4,323,805 others have been fully vaccinated.
