Sri Lanka Tappu is suitable for film city in State One
KATHMANDU: JULY 15 – As per the action plan of the Film Development Board, the feasibility study committee has submitted a report to the local level stating that it is appropriate to make Sri Lanka Tappu area of Barah area municipality a film city.
The Film Development Board has also expressed its gratitude for the coordination made by the municipality for filming sites in Garaiya and Chilaiya areas in Tappu.
Based on the recommendation of the Feasibility Study Committee for the construction of a shading site, the Barah Area Municipality had sent its consent for the construction of a shading site in the Tappu area. In response, Chairman of the Film Development Board Dayaram Dahal thanked the Barah Area Municipality on behalf of the board and submitted the report, said Prem Subba, co-coordinator of the committee.
The filmmakers have handed over the report to Barah Mayor Nilam Khanal. Handing over the letter, Prem Subba, co-coordinator of the committee, said that the Tappu area of Barah was suitable in terms of the availability and beauty of the land in the entire state.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Kumar Pradhan, president of the Federation of Nepali Filmmakers, said that a more attractive and suitable place has been chosen in Province 1 than the Film City to be built in the same state.
The Film Development Board has selected the Barah area as part of the campaign to build filming sites in all the provinces in coordination with the federal government, state governments, and local governments.
The Feasibility Study Committee formed by the Film Development Board had observed various places in Province 1 and recommended the Sri Lanka Tappu area of Baraha as a suitable place.
The committee has already submitted the report to the state and federal governments.
Arun Kumar Pradhan, State 1 President of the Federation of Nepali Filmmakers, Himal Dahal, Member, Prem Subba, Co-Coordinator of the Filming Site Construction Feasibility Study Committee, members Kebal Tamang, Keshav Rayamajhi, and Bhishan Rai were present on the occasion.
