Nepali scientists to participate in final round of Hult prize competition
KATHMANDU: JULY 15 – Nepali youth scientists are coming to London to take part in the final round of the competition of the Hult Prize – which is recognized as the Nobel award for youth students. The first and second rounds of the selection competition were held last May for the US$ 1,000,000 award.
Youth scientists, Shishir Panta, Prashanta Bhatta, Nirdesh Bhattarai and Soni Pokharel are travelling to the UK to participate in the competition taking place from August 8 to September 12. The Nepali scientists are participating in the final round to present a machine they invented for manufacturing mushrooms.
As many as 69 participants across the globe are taking part in the final round of competition, shared Sishir Panta, one of the four participants from Nepal.
The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) office-bearers have started a campaign to raise funds to enable the participation of Nepali scientists in the final round selection of the prominent award.
