3 militants killed in Indian-controlled Kashmir
SRINAGAR: JULY. 14 – Three militants including a commander were killed Wednesday in a gunfight with government forces in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
The gunfight erupted in Pulwama town, about 30 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
“Today a gunfight broke out here in the town in which three militants were killed,” a senior police official posted in Pulwama said. “The slain militants included a commander.”
The gunfight started after joint contingents of police, paramilitary and army cordoned off the area on specific intelligence inputs suggesting the presence of militants.
Reports said the house from where militants were firing on government forces during the stand-off has been damaged.
