Chhabdi Barahi handed over as religious forest

KATHMANDU: JULY 14 – The Division Forest Office, Tanahun has handed over Chhabdi Barahi of Byas municipality-14 to the community as a religious forest. Division Forest Chief Komal Raj Kafle handed over the ownership of the forest to Chhabdi Barahi religious forest chair and Chhabdi Barahi Trust chair Than Bahadur Thapa.

Chief of Division Forest Office Byas, Narayan Koirala shared that the religious forest has been stretched over the area of five hectares. The forest area also includes the Chhabdi Barahi temple.

“Efforts have been made for over 20-21 years to make it a religious forest. It has been materialized after more than two decades”, Koirala added.

The development trust has charted out a master plan to develop Chhabdi Barahi temple as the Centre of religious tourism.

Thapa shared that the master plan was formulated to preserve the Chhabdi Barahi temple, develop environment-friendly physical infrastructure and promote religious and rural agriculture tourism.
