Deuba’s appointment and swearing in as Prime Minister today

KATHMANDU: JULY 13 – Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is being appointed Prime Minister today. On Monday, the Supreme Court issued an order in the name of the President’s Office to appoint Deuba as the Prime Minister by 5 pm on July 13. According to the Supreme Court’s order, the President’s Office is preparing for Deuba’s appointment and swearing-in today.

Deuba is set to become prime minister for the fifth time. He is preparing to form a small cabinet today. For that, internal consultations and discussions have been intensified. On Monday, Deuba had consulted with all the parties that had formed an alliance against KP Sharma Oli.

A vote of confidence will have to be taken from the House of Representatives within 30 days after Deuba is appointed Prime Minister. He will become the Prime Minister for the remaining term of the House of Representatives. If Deuba does not receive a vote of confidence, the House of Representatives will be dissolved and elections will be held within six months.
