50,000 to the families of those who died due to COVID-19
ILLAM: JULY 10 – The Deumai Municipality of Ilam will provide Rs 50,000 as a relief to the families of those who died due to COVID-19. The meeting of the municipal executive has decided to give the amount in case of death of the city dwellers in the policy and program of the fiscal year 078/079 BS.
Municipality chief Surya Prasad Pokhrel said it was a new event this year. The municipality has decided to give Rs. 500 monthly to disabled people with a yellow card by declaring Deumai as disability-friendly as a new program.
The municipality has been giving allowance even to single men. In addition, a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 will be provided to unmarried women above the age of 45. It is mentioned in the policy and program of the municipality that a monthly allowance of one thousand rupees will be provided to the sexual minorities.
From the very beginning, this municipality has been providing nutrition facilities to the city dwellers living within the municipality as a different program from other local levels. Similarly, cash has also been provided for funeral expenses in case of death. It has been providing Rs 5,000 cash to the city dwellers for birth and death. Chief Executive Officer of the municipality Prem Prasad Dahal said that the program has been continued.
Municipal Information Officer Govinda Prasad Bastola (Gopal) said that the old programs including education, road maintenance, and construction, electricity, drinking water, agriculture, and livestock have been continued.
