Heavy rains in these areas, urging to be vigilant

KATHMANDU: JULY 9 – It is raining all over the country due to the effect of monsoon winds. It is raining in some places of State 1 and 2 including Kathmandu Valley at present.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many places with normal to full cloud cover in the afternoon. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder in a few places in State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Far Western states. Similarly, heavy rains are likely in one or two places in the far western region.

According to the department, there will be normal to complete cloud cover tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and some parts of the Far Western States and a small part of the rest of the provinces.

The department has requested to be vigilant as there is a risk of landslides and drift in hilly areas and rising water levels in rivers and streams.
