Eight hundred thousand doses of Vero Cell vaccine arrived from China
KATHMANDU: JULY 9 – Eight hundred thousand doses of Vero Cell vaccine against COVID-19 purchased from China have arrived in Kathmandu. Of the 4 million doses of vaccine purchased, the first batch of 800,000 doses arrived in Kathmandu this morning.
For that, a Nepal Airlines Corporation plane flew from Nepal on Thursday. Dr. Jhalak Sharma Gautam, chief of the vaccination branch of the health service department, said that 800,000 doses of vaccine have arrived today. Nepal has purchased 4 million doses of vaccine from China’s Sinopharm Company.
Now, for the second consignment, the aircraft of the corporation is scheduled to leave for China on 15 July. Along with this, the aircraft of the corporation is going to China on July 22 to bring the vaccine in the third consignment. Earlier, China had given the Vero Cell vaccine as a grant. That is being applied now.
