Free maternity services at Nobel

BIRATNAGAR: JULY 8 – Free maternity service has started at Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar. Free delivery at Nobel under the government’s Mother Safety Program.

According to the agreement with the government, Nobel has been providing free delivery since 7 March 2011, but the service was postponed from last August to upgrade. After that, the free maternity service has been resumed, said Dr. Gehnath Baral, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Nobel Hospital.

The maternal safety program at Nobel was suspended, but has now resumed, ‘said Dr. Baral. Services including maternity tests, bed charges, operation charges are free. Similarly, those who come for delivery have been given Rs. 1,000 as transportation incentive along with free services.

The government has been encouraging delivery at the hospital as it can endanger the lives of mothers and children. For the same reason, the government has made arrangements to provide free transportation and transportation expenses, said Nobel. Nobel’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has a team of specialist doctors including Dr. Baral, Dr. Shanti Subedi, and Dr. Sita Pokhrel.

With the availability of reliable services from specialist doctors, the attraction of Nobel laureates is increasing.
