Inmates of Jhapa help flood victims in Sindhupalchowk
KATHMANDU: JULY 8 – Inmates of Jhapa Prison have sent 50,100 rupees in cash to the flood victims of Helambu village in Sindhupalchowk on Wednesday.
The inmates have sent the cash to help the families of the flood and landslide victims in Sindhupalchowk on the first day of the rainy season.
“Wherever we are, the situation should be humane,” said Sher Bahadur Thebe, chief of internal administration for the inmates at Jhapa Prison. “We have sent a day’s aid to alleviate the suffering of the flood victims in Sindhupalchowk.”
The money deposited by the inmates was deposited in the account of the disaster relief fund of the municipality on Wednesday, said Rajendra Gautam, chief of the district prison, Jhapa. There are 76 women and 1,146 men inmates in the jail.
