Haiti President assassinated

KATHMANDU: JULY 7 – Haitian President Jovenel Moïse has been assassinated. Moïse, 53, was killed at around 1 pm local time on Wednesday, the BBC reported, citing Haitian Prime Minister Claude Joseph.

The president was reportedly assassinated by an armed group. President Moïse’s wife has also been injured in the incident.

According to a statement issued by Prime Minister Joseph, the identity of the killers has not yet been determined, but an investigation has revealed that they were Spanish-speaking people.
