Dilip Kumar was in love with married Kamini

AGENCY: JULY 7 – Indian actor Dilip Kumar has died at the age of 98 in Mumbai on Wednesday.

His love story is as interesting as the story of a movie. Saira Banu is his wife. But Saira was not Dilip’s first girlfriend. His first love was with actor Kamini Kaushal. Their love affair started in 1948 on the set of the movie ‘Shaheed’. Both were also planning to get married.

According to an article published on an English website, Kamini fell in love with Dilip and got married. Kamini was married to the husband of her elder sister after her sister died in a road accident. Kamini got married to her nephew under the pressure of her family as her sister also had a child. When Kamini’s brother found out that his sister was in love with Dilip Kumar, he threatened Dilip Kumar to end his relationship with Kamini. Kamini could not go against the family. And love ended.

In an interview, Kamini said that her relationship with Dilip Kumar could not be normalized. Dilip Kumar has also said in his biography that he is “broken”. In fact, we were both badly traumatized. We were happy with each other. But what could I do? Whom shall I betray? I used to love Dilip, but when I left my husband, my dead sister’s heart hurts. Again, my husband is a good man.

According to Urdu writer Ismat Chughtai, Kamini is not Dilip’s only girlfriend. After Kamini, Dilip was followed by Madhubala, Vyjayanthimala, Saira Banu, and Asma Rehman. Asma was Dilip’s second wife, whom he divorced two years after his marriage. Later, Saira returned.

Years later, in 2013, Dilip Kumar and Kamini Kaushal met. The artist met at Pran’s funeral. Dilip had reached there with his wife Saira. Dilip’s chair was next to Kamini’s. Dilip, 90, did not recognize 86-year-old Kamini. In a 2014 interview, Kamini said that Dilip looked like a stranger to her. She said that she felt bad and left. As Dilip Kumar was being harassed by old age, it was difficult to recognize anyone.
