UML task force seeking consensus, meeting today again
KATHMANDU: JULY 7 – The task force formed to resolve the internal disputes of the CPN (UML) will hold discussions today as well. The task force, which has been engaged in discussions since Monday, had also consulted on Tuesday to lay the groundwork for a consensus.
But the point of agreement has not been reached. The next meeting of the task force will be held this morning for further discussion, said Gokarna Raj Bista, a member of the task force. According to him, the discussion has progressed positively. The task force is working to turn the informal discussions between the top and second-tier leaders of the party into a systematic agreement.
An atmosphere of consensus has been created after Chairman KP Sharma Oli dissolved the General Convention Organizing Committee and agreed to operate on the basis of the organizational situation before 16 May 2018.
Leaders Subaschandra Nemwang, Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Shankar Pokhrel, and Bishnu Prasad Rimal from the Prime Minister’s and UML Chairman Oli’s side and Dr. Bhim Bahadur Rawal, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Surendra Prasad Pandey, Bista, and Raghuji Panta from the Madhav Kumar Nepal’s side are in the task force. A 10-member task force was formed by consensus between Chairman Oli and Leader Nepal.
