Monterrey sign Argentine goalkeeper Andrada
MEXICO CITY: JULY 5 – Argentine goalkeeper Esteban Andrada has joined Mexico’s Monterrey after parting ways with Buenos Aires giants Boca Juniors, the Liga MX club said on Sunday.
The 30-year-old will be tied to Los Rayados until December 2024 after Boca accepted an undisclosed transfer fee.
He is expected to be available for Monterrey’s first match of the Liga MX Apertura season against Puebla on July 25.
“I know that it is a very big institution, so I hope I can make the fans happy,” Andrada said in an interview published on the club’s official website. “In each game, I will try to provide reliability, which is the most important thing. You can be sure that I’m going to give 100%.”
Andrada, who has been capped four times for Argentina’s national team, made 92 first-team appearances for Boca after joining the club from Lanus in 2018.
He becomes the third Argentine in Monterrey’s squad, joining Maximiliano Mesa and Matias Kranevitter.
