NIC Asia Bank Employees Union against Social Security Fund
KATHMANDU: JULY 2 – The NIC Asia Bank Employees’ Union has protested against the contribution made by the Government of Nepal in a grand manner, saying that the contribution-based social security fund is discriminatory and unfair.
The union has staged protests at NIC Asia Bank’s head office and provincial offices across the country with various demands.
The union has demanded from the stakeholders to address the suggestions made earlier by the employees’ unions of banks and financial institutions and insurance companies in the Social Security Fund Act, Rules and Procedure.
The union said it was determined not to be involved in the scheme as some points of the scheme needed to be modified in the interest of the employees and the current discriminatory system could jeopardize past achievements.
Although the current system looks good to the minimum wage class, the banking sector employees are ready to join the scheme to give concrete form to the government’s plan even though the banking sector employees who have struggled for a long time to get various facilities have not been required, but the current discriminatory points need to be modified.
