Sudurpaschim experiencing excessive heat
KATHMANDU: JULY 2 – Excessive heat since a week here has affected the normal life in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts of the Sudurpaschim province. The maximum temperature is said to have reached around 38 degrees Celsius.
Although the sky is covered with haze, no rain-causing clouds can be seen. It has not rained here for about a week. The labourers who have to go out for work to earn wages have been hit hard by the sweltering heat.
“We have been hearing news of disaster caused by incessant rains in the east and central parts of the country whereas the dry weather and no-rain has affected daily life in our region,” said Kunwar Prasad Chaudhary, a daily wager from Dhangadhi.
Many people from the plains of these districts have been going to Khanidanda and Sahajpur located at higher altitudes in the Chure hills of Kailali to escape the heat.
