High water flow in big rivers, risk in coastal areas [With information]
KATHMANDU: JULY 2 -The risk of floods and landslides has increased across the country due to continuous rains. According to the Flood Forecast Division, the risk in the coastal area has increased as the water level in the big river has reached the alert level.
Today, the flow of water in Kamala, Bagmati, East Rapti, and other rivers is expected to increase significantly and some of them may reach an alert level. The tributaries of Koshi including Bhotekoshi, Tamakoshi, Dudhkoshi, Sunkoshi, and Narayani and its tributaries Trishuli, Budhigandaki, Kaligandaki, and Mangdi will increase significantly.
The flood forecasting department has forecast that the alert level may be reached in some areas. According to the morning measurement, the flow in Karnali, Mahakali, and its tributaries is normal, while the flow in Koshi, Narayani, and its tributaries is increasing. The department has requested to take special precautions in coastal and flood-prone areas.
