Urge to be aware of those who try to cheat by creating a Facebook page in the name of NRB
KATHMANDU: JULY 1 – NRB has urged to be vigilant saying that an unauthorized Facebook page has been created in the name of Nepal Rastra Bank. The bank made the request after an unofficial Facebook page opened in the name of the National Bank of Nepal demanded details of 200 people seeking grants and spreading misleading information. The bank made the request in a statement on Thursday.
The statement said, “Nepal Rastra Bank does not have any official Facebook page so far and no information and invitations have been received from this bank through the Facebook page. The bank has taken serious note of the misleading information and information being posted by creating an unauthorized Facebook page of Nepal Rastra Bank, all Facebook users are requested not to enter any of their information on the Facebook pages opened in the name of this bank, requesting that those who post/create misleading information by creating an unauthorized Facebook page of Nepal Rastra Bank be punished according to the law related to cybercrime.”
The bank has also called on the public not to believe in such misleading Facebook posts.
