The flood washed away the bridge under construction, the slope was being prepared today
NAWALPUR: JUNE 17 – A bridge under construction in Baudikali has been swept away by the flood in Baudikhola of Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat-Sustapur) after incessant rains since Monday evening. Slabs and beams of a bridge under construction in Shera have been leaked to connect wards 1 and 2 of Baudikali village municipality of the district has washed away by flood.
Chief Administrative Officer of Baudikali, Pradip Chandra Subedi, informed that the iron structure of the bridge being constructed at Shera to connect the village municipality with the district headquarters Kawasoti was washed away by the flood. The work of the bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 35 million by the state government had reached its final stage. According to Chief Administrative Officer Subedi, work was underway to demolish the bridge on Thursday. Subedi said that millions of rupees have been lost due to the flood in the river.
Meanwhile, a concrete bridge connecting Nawalpur and Tanahun is at risk due to floods in the Kaligandaki River after incessant rains. According to Subedi, the concrete bridge built on the Kaligandaki River connecting Baudikali-4 and Ghiring Village Municipality 4 of Tanahun is at risk. Due to the rain, some part of the land in Baudikali area has been washed away and the supporting gabion of the bridge has been washed away towards Ghiring. Subedi said that the movement of vehicles passing through the area has been stopped due to the increased risk on the bridge.
