Former Prime Minister Khanal was taken to Delhi for further treatment
KATHMANDU: JUNE 16 – Former Prime Minister and senior CPN-UML leader Jhala Nath Khanal has been taken to Delhi for further treatment. Khanal, who was admitted to Norvic Hospital on Saturday, was taken to Delhi on Wednesday afternoon for further treatment. Khanal, who was cured of COVID-19 infection, was admitted to Norvic Hospital with water in his lungs and blood infection.
Khanal’s fever has not gone down and he is constantly coughing. He has been on oxygen support since he was admitted to the hospital. He was already undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Delhi and was taken there after his family expressed a desire to take him there, according to the Norvic Hospital.
Somnath Bastola, a public relations officer at the hospital, said that his body did not take more than one pint as he tried to donate two pints of blood to Khanal yesterday. Khanal had already had kidney problems. He also said that the reports of the latest health tests are yet to come.
Khanal had tested positive for Corona Virus last April.
