Sindhupalchowk floods: Body of 1 missing person found, search and rescue operation continues
KATHMANDU: JUNE 16 – The body of one of the seven persons who went missing due to the flood in Indrawati River in Helambu Municipality of Sindhupalchowk has been found. The body of a man has been found on the bank of Indrawati River in Helambu Municipality.
DSP Prakash Sapkota of the District Police Office Sindhupalchowk said that after receiving the news that the body was found local police was sent there. According to him, search and rescue operations have been continued by mobilizing Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police teams and helicopters.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Army has rescued two people trapped on the roof of the hotel. The army rescued them from the roof of Rose Hotel in Melamchi Bazar by helicopter in the morning.
They were stranded at the hotel after the floods on Tuesday. The hotel was surrounded by floodwaters and some floors were submerged. Unable to get out, they went to the roof of the hotel.
