Meeting of the Prime Minister of Australia with Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain
The 95-year-old British queen was very busy this year.
LONDON: JUNE 15 – Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has held a face-to-face meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison at Windsor Castle.
The Australian Prime Minister had arrived in the United Kingdom as an observer to attend the G-7 summit. The British monarchy also has a monarchy in Australia. Australia is one of the 54 countries in the British Commonwealth.
The 95-year-old British queen was very busy this year. She was on a train to Cornwall in the south-west of the UK last Friday. She was attending a dinner for world leaders attending the summit of the “Complete Seven” (G-7) in Cornwall.
Soon after, she took part in a military parade in Windsor on Saturday to mark her 95th birthday. The next day, she welcomed US President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, to the palace.
Due to the Corona Virus epidemic, last year Queen Elizabeth met with guests only through online and virtual means. But this time she met the guests openly.
Australian Prime Minister Morrison also met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in London. They agreed on a framework for free trade agreements by removing taxes on many goods and services from each other’s countries. -AP
