Less than 24 hours later, the decision of the parliamentary party to suspend the MP was reversed
DHANGADHI: JUNE 15 – The CPN-UML Far-Western Provincial Parliamentary Party on Monday evening decided to suspend seven Oli-affiliated lawmakers. The decision was also covered in the news.
However, the decision of the parliamentary party to suspend the MP did not last for 24 hours. Now, it has been brought out that Oli’s party MPs have been barred from attending the parliamentary party meeting for a few days.
Durga Kumari Kami, chief whip of the UML parliamentary party, said that the seven MPs were suspended not because they were not MPs but because they were not allowed to attend the party meetings. “It’s not like it’s in the news,” she said. They has not been suspended from the post of MP. Their parliamentary seat is still there. ‘
She said further action would be taken in the future for violating the whip of the parliamentary party. Monday’s party meeting suspended Oli’s state assembly members Pathan Singh Bohara and Ratan Thapa for 15 days, Liladhar Bhatta and Baldev Regmi for 10 days and Nepalu Chaudhary, Maya Tamang Bohara and Galbu Bohara for seven days.
It is said that the decision was not implemented immediately to preserve the party unity. UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal has a majority in the state assembly. Of the 25 members of the state assembly, including the CPN-UML speaker, 17 are in favor of Madhav Nepal and seven in favor of Oli.
The parliamentary party had decided to suspend Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta for a certain period of time on Monday, accusing him of not giving a vote of confidence to the seven Oli supporters as per the party’s directive and repeatedly violating the whip.
