Two died due to electric shock
SOLUKHUMBU: JUNE 11 – Two persons were killed on the spot when an electric shock hit a lovet carrying a crane in Pattale of Soludhudhkunda Municipality-8. According to Kavit Katawal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, the accident took place when a crane at Lovet (Ga 1 Ka 5173) heading towards Pokhara touched the 33 kV transmission line.
According to him, Bhumiraj Marasini, 26, of Baglung in Badigad Rural Municipality-5 and Ram Bahadur Pariyar, 24, of Syangja died on the spot. According to Pranau Katawal, the incident took place at 8:40 am when a crane of 86 MW hydropower under construction in Solu Khola was being taken to Pokhara for repair.
Similarly, Basanta Poudel, 18, of Gulmi and Leela Pariyar, 24, of Syangja were injured in the incident. They have been sent to Phaplu District Hospital for treatment, said Narayan Bahadur Basnet, Traffic Police. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has a 33 kV transmission line in the road area on Siddhicharan Highway.
