Modification of CAN’s financial procedures: Player’s allowance increased
KATHMANDU: JUNE 10 – Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has revised its financial procedures. The meeting of the CAN working committee revised the old procedure after two decades and made it new.
Players’ sports allowance has been increased as per the procedure. Now, every male player will get Rs 10,000 allowance while playing one-day international tournament. Earlier, an allowance of Rs 5,000 was given when playing a T20 international tournament. The women players will get Rs 5,000 for ODIs and Rs 3,000 for T20s. Players in closed training will also get an allowance of Rs 500 per day for the period.
According to the revised rules, players will get 500 allowances during domestic competitions. CAN had formed a three-member economic working committee under the coordination of treasurer Roshan Singh. The members of the committee were Durgaraj Pathak and Madhav Karmacharya. The working procedure will also provide Rs. 300,000 and Rs. 100,000 to the state and district associations for administrative expenses.
Coordinator Singh said that the allowances allocated for the players in various titles were just the beginning and the amount would be modified in a timely manner and the amount would be gradually increased. He also expressed confidence that the procedure would be effective for financial transparency.
