An old woman died when a gas leak caused a fire

PANCHTHAR: JUNE 9 – An old woman who was injured in the fire has died while undergoing treatment. Tanmaya Sapkota, 72, of Phidim Municipality-4, Jorsal, who was injured in a fire caused by leakage of cooking gas in her house on Monday night, died last night while undergoing treatment.

According to Dambar Bishwokarma, Inspector at the District Police Office, Panchthar, Sapkota was pronounced dead at Mechi Zonal Hospital in Jhapa at around 1 pm last night. Sapkota was seriously injured in the fire.

Tanmaya’s son Din Nath and grandson Madan Sapkota, who were injured in the fire, are also undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Police said that the fire broke out due to gas leak while they were attending the function.
