Relief to squatters
KATHMANDU: JUNE 9 – Rice has been provided to the squatter families who are in trouble due to the prohibitory order imposed for the control and prevention of COVID-19. One sack of rice weighing 30 kg has been distributed to 11 families of squatter toll near Mulpani International Cricket Stadium in Kageshwari Municipality-6.
Former taekwondo instructor Raj Kumar Dhungana, a resident of Jorpati, has provided relief on the initiative of international taekwondo judge and instructor Ashok Khadka. Khadka reached the squatter toll and distributed relief to the concerned. Even during the great earthquake of 2072 BS, tents were constructed and tents and relief were distributed to the squatters of the same toll under Khadka’s leadership.
According to Khadka, relief has been distributed to 37 families and financial assistance has been provided to two kidney patients during the prohibitory order. Babulal Nagarkoti, 67, of Kageshwari Municipality, Ward 2, was provided with a blanket and relief.
A disabled Bhujel family and a Karki family who were seriously injured after falling from a tree were also provided financial assistance and relief. More than 450 families who were in trouble even during the period of lockdown and prohibitory order in 2076/077 due to Corona were provided relief, health materials and relief in Ashoka’s activism.
