Death by crocodile attack
CHITWAN: JUNE 7 – One person has been killed in a crocodile attack in Dhruvaghat area of Chitwan National Park. The deceased has been identified as Channuram Bote, 35, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-25.
According to Lokendra Adhikari, information officer of the park, Bote’s body was found in the Rapti River this morning. The crocodile attacked the boat while fishing at night, the official said. It is illegal to fish in the park at night. There is an arrangement for a licensed person to fish in the park area only by using the prescribed means.
Twelve people have died from wildlife in the park and intermediate areas so far this fiscal year. Elephants, tigers and rhinos have killed three each, while Bos gaurus (Gaurigai), Wild Boar and Crocodile have killed one each. During this period, 23 people have been injured due to wildlife attacks. -RSS
