50,000 will be given to the family of the journalist who died from COVID-19
BIRATNAGAR: JUNE 5 – The Provincial Media Foundation, State No. 1, will provide assistance to the families of the journalists who died due to COVID-19 and to the infected journalists.
A meeting of the foundation held on Friday decided to provide Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000 treatment to the journalists who have been hospitalized for at least a week and have to undergo ICU and ventilator services respectively.
Similarly, it has been decided to provide Rs 50,000 to the family of the journalist who died due to Corona Virus, said Yagya Sharma, director of the state media academy. Sharma said that the recommendation of the Federation of Nepali Journalists and the District Administration Office has been made mandatory to get the assistance.
The meeting also requested journalists suffering from ‘severe diseases’ related to cancer, kidney, heart and bone marrow to contact the institute. Sharma informed Makalu Khabar that the decision was taken to provide some relief to the journalists who are facing financial difficulties.
