Before the Covid-19 virus was discovered, there was no infection in the Wuhan laboratory: China
KATHMANDU: JUNE 5 – China has reiterated that no staff or researchers at a laboratory in Wuhan, Hubei Province, have been infected with the Corona Virus.
A report released by the Pentagon on Friday states that the United States has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s intelligence have been made more than once. The U.S. and China have differing views on the origin of the Corona Virus, according to a U.S. intelligence report.
U.S. officials have speculated that the virus may have been transmitted to humans through a leak in a laboratory. President Joe Biden last week ordered the intelligence agency to conduct a detailed study and submit a report within 90 days.
A study by international researchers in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO) found that the possibility of the Corona Virus being leaked from a laboratory to humans was extremely rare, but that further studies were needed.
The latest intelligence report from the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has raised fears that the virus may have spread from a laboratory, not a seafood market in Wuhan. With this in mind, senior infectious disease specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci has demanded that China release the health details of a total of nine Chinese nationals, including three researchers from a laboratory in Wuhan.
On Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin reiterated at the Wuhan Institute of Virology that there was no information about the Corona Virus before December 30, 2019.
He claimed that no staff or students at the laboratory had been infected with the Corona Virus so far. He said health details could not be made public as they would be limited to laboratory staff and researchers. -RSS
