Test flight at Tumlingtar Airport from 72-seat aircraft [With Video]
TUMLINGTAR: JUNE 4 – Buddha Air’s 72-seat capacity ATR-72 aircraft operated with private sector investment has made a test flight at Tumlingtar Airport. Buddha Air had been flying ATR-42 and Beechcraft aircraft before, made a test flight at the airport on Friday from ATR-72 aircraft.
Officials of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Air’s operations and technical team conducted the test flight. Rupesh Joshi, Marketing Director, Buddha Air, said that the cost of operating the aircraft from the 72-seat aircraft would be reduced and the airfare would be reduced by carrying more passengers.
According to him, the previous fare of Rs 5,800 is estimated to be Rs 3,500 as soon as the flight starts from the big aircraft in Tumlingtar. Tumlingtar Airport is said to be the first airport in the hilly region where ATR-72 aircraft successfully took off and landed.
At present, Buddha Airlines is flying at Tumlingtar Airport with a 42-seat ATR aircraft and Yeti Airlines is flying with a 25-seat capacity Jetstream aircraft. According to Director of Buddha Air, regular flights will start from the 72-seat capacity aircraft at the airport as soon as the Corona epidemic ends.
Buddha Air has been flying 100 times daily from 14 aircraft including nine ATR-72s, three ATR-42s and two Beechcrafts. Buddha Air is currently flying to Bhadrapur, Tumlingtar, Biratnagar, Rajbiraj, Janakpur, Simara, Bharatpur, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Surkhet and Dhangadhi.
