KATHMANDU: JUNE 4 – The textbook has already arrived while the school is preparing the results of the previous year for the new academic session. The schools here are preparing to start the new academic session from June 15.

According to Kedar Raj Bista, acting head of Janak Education Materials Center, Bharatpur, the required textbooks for classes 4 to 11 have already arrived at the center. According to him, 1.435 million books have already arrived at the center. He said, “Textbooks in three subjects in class 6 are yet to come as the textbooks have been changed. Those books will also arrive by Sunday, June 6 this year.”

He said that books on social, science and health subjects with textbook changes are coming. 75,000 books on three subjects are yet to come. The center has been providing books in Chitwan, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Makwanpur, Bardaghat-Susta East Nawalparasi, Bardaghat-Susta West Nawalparasi, Tanahun and Gorkha districts.

He said that 34 entrepreneurs from those districts have already registered their businesses in the Curriculum Development Center and others are being registered and renewed. He said that there would be no shortage of books if the situation in the country returned to normal due to the Corona disaster.

He informed that the center will not distribute textbooks for classes 1 to 3 as it has been entrusted to the private sector for printing and distribution. Janak Education Materials Center will also distribute class 12 books from the next academic session. At present, books worth Rs. 127.9 million have arrived at the Bharatpur branch of the Center.

The total number of students currently studying in classes 1 to 12 in the district is more than 150,000. Out of that, the center will provide books to 75,339 students studying in community schools while the private sector has been providing books to students studying in institutional schools. The center has stated that the process of distribution of the books will start from June 7. -RSS
