Nepal defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0

KATHMANDU: JUNE 4 – Nepal has won a great victory against Chinese Taipei. Nepal defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0 in a match played at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait on Thursday night.

Anjan Bista and Navyug Shrestha scored one goal each in Nepal’s victory. Anjan scored from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of the match while Navyug Shrestha scored in the 80th minute.

At the same time, Nepal has won for the second time in a row against Chinese Taipei. Earlier, in selection of world cup 2022 and 2023 in the match played in September 2019, Nepal had beaten by 2-0.

After this victory, Nepal has added 6 points including 6 wins and 4 losses in 6 games played so far. Nepal ranks fourth in the group. Australia tops the group with 12 points, followed by Kuwait and Jordan with 10 points each. Similarly, Taipei, which is at the bottom of the group, has no points in 6 games.

Even if Nepal finishes fourth, it will have a chance to make it straight to the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers. Now, Nepal will play against Jordan on June 7 and Australia on June 11 in Kuwait.
