KATHMANDU: JUNE 2 – The Election Commission has sent a letter to Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) presidents Mahanta Thakur and Upendra Yadav. According to Komal Pasad Dhamala, assistant spokesperson of the commission, a letter has been sent to both the chairpersons of the commission saying that the format is not enough.

A meeting of the executive committee of the Yadav JSP last Monday had decided to expel Rajendra Mahato, Laxman Lal Karna and Sarvendra Nath Shukla from the party along with Thakur. After that, a letter was sent to the commission on Tuesday (yesterday) to implement the decision and immediately Thakur’s party also sent a letter to expel Chairman Yadav from the party.

However, the letter sent by both the parties was not in the format of the schedule, said spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha. He said, “We have written to both the parties to submit the details in the format of the schedule.” Thakur has also been asked to send a copy of the decision signed by a member of the Central Committee.

According to Shrestha, the letter sent by Yadav also includes the signature of a member of the Central Committee.
