UML to transform the General Convention Committee into a Central Committee
KATHMANDU: JUNE 30 – The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has decided to transform the National General Convention Organizing Committee into a Central Committee.
The last meeting of the organizing committee held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday decided to transform the committee into a central committee.
A meeting of the General Convention Organizing Committee held on Wednesday dismissed the committee after the Supreme Court’s decision on May 28 questioned the legitimacy of the committee. Spokesperson Pradip Gyawali informed that all the action taken against Madhav Kumar Nepal’s side was also canceled along with the dismissal of the committee.
The meeting decided to take Raghuvir Mahaseth, Bishnu Rimal, Beduram Bhusal, and Raghuji Pant, who were added from the CPN (UML) in the CPN (UML) unity process, along with Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Lekhraj Bhatt, and Mani Thapa, he said.
The meeting also lauded the work done by the government to control the Corona epidemic, Gyawali said.
The meeting also decided that the party would take responsibility for the treatment of senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and request the government to vaccinate all citizens, said spokesperson Gyawali. The meeting has decided to convene a meeting of the UML Central Committee on July 2 at 11 am.
