Tribhuvan University Associate Professor Shankar Bhandari dies in car accident
KATHMANDU: JUNE 30 – Director of the Sports Directorate of Tribhuvan University and former Assistant Campus Head of Trichandra Campus, Dr. Shankar Prasad Bhandari has died in a road accident. Bhandari died in a car accident (Lu 17 Cha 6066) while he was driving on the way to Butwal from Devdaha Municipality-10, Charange.
Bhandari, 52, of Chhatrakot Rural Municipality-1 of Gulmi died after his car fell into the river on Tuesday evening, according to police. He was rushed to Gautam Buddha Heart Hospital in Ramnagar, Butwal, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The car was driven by Bhandari himself. He was rescued after his car fell into the river. Bhandari is the brother of Nepali Congress leader Chandra Bhandari. He had gone to Butwal from Kathmandu to attend his father’s anniversary. According to family sources, he is preparing to be buried at Pashupati Aryaghat today.
