Pokhara-Baglung road section blocked since Monday night
KATHMANDU: JUNE 29 – The Parbat-Baglung road section of the Madhya Pahadi Lokmarga has been blocked due to landslide caused by continuous rain since Monday morning. The road has been blocked since last night due to continuous landslides in Chuwabhir of Kushma Municipality-8.
The road is blocked due to a landslide falling about 50 meters above the road. Despite efforts to remove the landslide on both sides of the road, it will take time to open the road, said Bishwaraj Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Parbat. The road has been blocked in the area from time to time due to normal rains.
The ambulance service along with various freight vehicles has been affected after the road was blocked. Patients who have to be taken to Pokhara for further treatment from Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang, and other places have been affected after the road was closed due to landslide on the epidemic of COVID-19.
Vehicles coming for Baglung, Myagdi, and Mustang from the former Dhaulagiri have been stranded at the bridge of Parbat while the vehicles left for Pokhara and Kathmandu from those districts have not been able to reach their destinations.
