KATHMANDU: JUNE 29 – Switzerland has reached the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup. Switzerland reached the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup by defeating France in a penalty shootout last night.
The match ended in a penalty shootout after both teams scored 3-3 in the allotted 90 minutes and no goals were scored in the extra 30 minutes. Switzerland won 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Switzerland won the game after France’s Kylian Mbappé missed a penalty.
Earlier, Karim Benzema of France scored two goals and Paul Pogba scored one goal in the 90th minute. Haris Seferović scored twice and Mario Gavranović scored once for Switzerland.
Switzerland will now face Spain in the quarterfinals. Italy, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, and the Czech Republic, along with Switzerland, have reached the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup so far.
