KATHMANDU: JUNE 28 – The BCCI has decided to move the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in India to the UAE. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the official announcement on Monday. Vice President Rajiv Shukla informed that it was decided to organize T20 in UAE from the meeting held through virtual media.

The ICC had given the BCCI a last day on Monday to decide on the World Cup. Accordingly, the BCCI has decided to hold the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Board Secretary Jay Shah informed that the decision to move the World Cup to UAE was taken after a long discussion and meeting. Shah informed that the ICC will be informed about this today.

The BCCI has given the responsibility of setting the date of the World Cup to the ICC. However, the IPL final is scheduled to be played on October 15. It is said that the T20 World Cup may start a few days later. IPL-2021 was closed after 29 games due to the Corona epidemic. The second phase is scheduled to take place in the UAE from September 19, but no official announcement has been made.

First IPL
The rest of the IPL, which was stopped due to Corona, is being prepared to be played first. The World Cup will start immediately after the rest of the IPL. The IPL will be held from September 19 to October 15 and the T20 World Cup from October 17, according to Cricinfo.

With 16 teams participating in the World Cup, the final of the tournament will be held on November 14. However, the official date is yet to be decided.
