Public transport to open from Tuesday in odd-even system [With Video]
KATHMANDU: JUNE 28 – Public vehicles with over 25-seat capacity are to be allowed for operation in the Kathmandu Valley from Tuesday in the odd-even number plate system.
In a press statement today, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu stated that public transport entrepreneurs are required to make sure the enforcement of public health protocols and physical distancing rule while operating the service. Drivers and their assistants and passengers should compulsorily put on masks and the sanitizer should be made available at the entrance of the vehicle during travel hours. Assistant drivers are mandated to wear gloves and the vehicle should be disinfected regularly, according to the statement.
The transportation of fruits, food, milk and dairy products, eggs, meats, poultry-related goods, and fuel for veterinary services is permitted from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The transportation of construction materials for public and private purposes will be allowed from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. Journalists are allowed for movement in possession of the Department of Information’s accreditation or a press pass issued by the respective media house.
