One killed, four injured in lightning strike

BIRATNAGAR: JUNE 23 – One person has been killed in a lightning strike at Rangeli in Morang district. The deceased has been identified as Nitesh Roy, 23, of Chopra in Rangeli Municipality-6.

Roy, who was in critical condition died while undergoing treatment at Rangeli Hospital, police said. Four others were injured when lightning struck them while they were sitting under a tree near their house.

The injured have been identified as Rabin Mandal, 26, Ashok Mandal, 55, Bijay Mandal, 17, and Sangita Yadav, 25.

They are undergoing treatment at Rangeli Hospital, said Rangeli Area Police Office Inspector Anmol Khadka.
