Croatia runners-up in the knockout stage

KATHMANDU: JUNE 23 –  Croatia are runners-up in Group D of the Euro Cup and have reached the last 16. Croatia entered the last 16 as group runners-up after beating Scotland 3-1 in the final match of the group stage on Tuesday night.

Croatia took the lead in the 17th minute through a goal by Nikola Vlašić. However, in the 42nd minute, Scotland’s Callum McGregor equalized and the first half ended in a 1-1 draw. Croatia captainLuka Modrić regained the lead in the second half. He scored in the 62nd minute and Ivan Perišić added in the 77th minute. And, Croatia won 3-1.

After this victory, Croatia reached the knockout stage by collecting 4 points including one win, one draw and one defeat. Scotland are fourth in the group with one point from three games and two defeats.
