Austria in the last 16, the Netherlands won easily

KATHMANDU: JUNE 22 -The Netherlands and Austria have won their respective games in Group C of the Euro Cup. The Netherlands easily defeated Northern Macedonia 3-0 in their Group C home match.

Memphis Depay scored one goal and captain Georginio Wijnaldum scored two goals in the victory of the Netherlands. Depay scored in the 24th minute and Wijnaldum in the 51st and 58th minutes. With a 100 percent victory, the Netherlands has reached the last 16 as the winner of Group C by adding 9 points from 3 games. Scoreless Macedonia finished last.

Austria beat Ukraine 1-0 in Bucharest, Romania on Monday night. Austria has reached the last 16 as the runner-up of Group C. The only goal scored by Christoph Baumgartner in the 21st minute was enough to give Austria the victory.

Austria added six points with two wins and one loss, while third-placed Ukraine added three points with two losses and one win. From Group C, the Netherlands had already made it to the last 16 after playing the previous game.
